Liz Germer is an abstract artist inspired by the water and the nature surrounding her home in the Treasure Coast of Florida.

Her paintings are abstract interpretations of the ocean, Indian River Lagoon, landscapes, gardens, and emotions.

The color palette and style in each painting delineates the series for a body of her work. Her preferred media is acrylic paint and mixed media drawing tools on canvas.  Her collection includes three series; Moody Blues, Wonder, and Garden Delights.

Liz is originally from Massachusetts, has a B.A. in psychology from Boston College, and a M.Ed. from the University of Virginia. Her interest in art began when she was a young child watching the local PBS shows “Learn To Draw” with Jon Gnagy and then Bob Ross who introduced her to landscape paintings and “happy accidents”. Who else remembers those shows? She took private art classes as a child, learned to draw, and enjoyed painting on those fuzzy black velvet panels. Then real life entered and art took a backseat.

As an adult, Liz focused on her career and raised 2 daughters in Virginia. She worked in the field of special education in a number of different positions including speech pathologist, early childhood special education teacher, and a special education administrator. After 31 years working in school systems, she and her husband retired to Vero Beach Florida and she resumed her passion for art. Liz has studied drawing, watercolor, mixed media, and abstract painting at the Vero Beach Museum of Art.  She pursues professional growth through courses and participates in advanced, abstract hands-on workshops with artists Cat Tesla and Julie Schumer. Liz alsoparticipates in local art club events. and exhibits.  Her work has been included in a number of private collections.
